Larry began plowing snow with a secondhand Jeep back in 1973. Since then, he has fathered four children, all of whom help run the snow business during the winter season. In addition to running a successful snow removal company, he enjoys golf, architecture, gardening, and woodworking. He and his wife Barb have been married for over 40 years, and they live in the Mt. Airy neighborhood of Philadelphia.
Ian is the backbone and visionary behind Suburban Snow Plow. He grew up helping his Dad out on woodworking projects and shoveling snow in the winter. Always industrious, by age 12 he had a collection of power tools that would rival most adult men; as a young teen he built prize-winning gardens, and even designed a rudimentary snow plow for a self-built go-kart constructed from an old tractor engine. When he’s not running the snow business (a full-time job in itself), he manages telecommunications network infrastructure across 13 states.
Zach is a master of interpersonal relationships, never content with the number of people he knows. After graduating from the University of Massachusetts, he spent three years living abroad in Belize, finally returning to the region to teach charter school in Philadelphia. In 2014 he found a woman with an extraordinary ability to match him in both character and wit, and married her the following year. They live in Wyndmoor with their two sons and their German shepherd Tuukka.
Having spent his early years in both upstate New York and Minnesota, Eric has a sixth sense when it comes to snow. After dating Heidi throughout college, he officially joined the family in 2012. An accomplished skid steer operator and all-around handyman, he is an indispensable member of the company, especially when it comes to brine operations and in managing our fleet.
Heidi is the youngest of the Oelschlegel siblings. After graduating from Messiah College, she married her sweetheart Eric in 2012. By day, she’s a mom and part-time substitute teacher; by night she handles most of the snow business client communications as well as all the bills, invoicing, and payroll. She and her husband live in Mt. Airy with their three daughters and a black Lab/boxer mix, Emlen.
After completing a computer science degree at the University of Pittsburgh, Erich spent six years in the United States Army as an unmanned aircraft systems electronic maintenance technician, followed by a seven-year stint as a contractor working on an airborne signals collection platform in Korea, finally relocating back to the states and joining the business in 2017. When he’s not behind the plow, he works on integrating and implementing new technologies, manages the website, writes magazine articles, publishes blog content, and also runs a web design/development and IT consultancy. He and his wife and their three girls live in Glenside.
