We begin by performing a comprehensive survey in order to develop a site engineering plan, which is crucial to our success and your satisfaction. We will walk your property with you to discuss specific needs and priorities of work, take pictures, and identify any potential hazards or problem areas.  Depending on the size of the site, we may also employ a drone to take aerial video footage at this time.  Surveys help us to:

  • Identify where snow will be piled
  • Determine site gradients for proper drainage and to prevent refreeze situations
  • Identify potential hazards
  • Plan for different removal/mitigation strategies depending on anticipated or measured snowfall

Following the site visit, we then access aerial and satellie imagery of the site and overlay easy to read markings identifying the area to be cleared, sidewalk lengths and lot area calculations, problem areas and hazards, snow pile locations, and any established priorities of work. Site pictures are overlaid with detailed callouts outlining specific tasks to be performed or any restrictions in effect. The site engineering plan is then developed from the map and individual pictures, and provided to the customer as part of our proposal.

Surveys also provide an opportunity to assess the general property condition of each site. Post season conditions are compared against preseason pictures to help us return each site to the state it was in prior to the start of the season if any damage occurred.

The end result is a clear picture of the work to be performed at the site. Our clients know exactly what to expect after each snowfall, and our team knows exactly how to perform the work. Don’t wait until the last minute — call us today at 1-866-600-PLOW or request a proposal.
